Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 2026

This Privacy Policy explains what information Username Searcher (“we”, “us”) collects when you use usernamesearcher.com (the “Site”), how we use it, and the choices you have. The Site is operated by the Username Searcher team. If you have questions, contact us at contact@usernamesearcher.com.

1. The Short Version

  • You don’t need an account to use any of our tools, and we never ask for your password on any platform.
  • Our tools only check information that is already public, such as whether a public profile page exists for a username.
  • We don’t build profiles of the people whose usernames are searched, and we don’t save your searches.
  • Like most websites, we use cookies for basic site functions, to understand how the Site is used, and for advertising. Analytics and advertising cookies are set by third parties, including Google. You can control these, as explained below.

2. Information We Collect

Information you type into our tools. When you enter a username, keyword or name into a search, checker or generator, we use it to run that request. For example, we check whether a public profile exists at that address on the platforms you chose. We don’t save your searches, and we don’t link them to your identity.

Information sent automatically by your browser. Like almost every website, our servers receive standard technical information when you visit: your IP address, browser type, device type, operating system, the page you came from, the pages you view and the time of your visit.

Cookies and similar technologies. See Section 4.

Information you send us directly. If you email us, we receive your email address, your message and anything else you choose to include. We keep messages for as long as needed to respond, then delete them when no longer needed.

Newsletter. If you subscribe to our newsletter, we collect your email address and pass it to Kit (kit.com), the service that stores our list and sends our emails. Kit first emails you a link to confirm the subscription. Every newsletter has an unsubscribe link, and you can also ask us to remove you by emailing contact@usernamesearcher.com. We use your address only to send the newsletter, and we never sell it.

We don’t knowingly collect sensitive information, and we ask you not to include any in messages to us.

3. How We Use Information

We use information to:

  • run the tools and show you results
  • keep the Site secure, prevent abuse and enforce rate limits so the tools stay fast for everyone
  • understand how people use the Site, such as which pages and tools are visited most, so we can improve it
  • show advertising (see Section 5)
  • send the newsletter to people who subscribe
  • reply to messages you send us
  • comply with legal obligations

We don’t sell your personal information for money. Some advertising cookies may count as “selling” or “sharing” under certain US state laws. Section 6 explains your choices.

4. Cookies

Cookies are small text files stored on your device. We and our partners use them for:

  • Essential purposes, such as remembering your cookie choices and keeping the Site secure. These are needed for the Site to work.
  • Analytics, through Google Analytics, to understand how the Site is used, such as which pages people visit and how they found us. Google Analytics never receives the usernames you search. To learn more about how Google uses this information, see https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
  • Advertising, as described in Section 5.

You can change your choices at any time with the “Cookie settings” link in the footer, and you can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Blocking essential cookies may stop parts of the Site from working properly. Visitors from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland will see a consent message when they first visit, and analytics and advertising cookies stay off unless they agree. The Site may also store small settings in your browser, such as your light or dark mode choice.

5. Advertising and Google AdSense

We use, or may use, Google AdSense to show ads on the Site.

  • Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or other websites.
  • Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to this Site and/or other sites on the internet.
  • You can opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google’s Ads Settings at https://adssettings.google.com. You can also opt out of a third-party vendor’s use of cookies for personalized advertising by visiting https://www.aboutads.info/choices.

To learn more about how Google uses information from sites that use its services, see https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.

If you opt out, you’ll still see ads, but they won’t be personalized based on your browsing.

6. Your Privacy Rights

United States. Depending on the state you live in (for example California, Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut or Texas), you may have the right to know what personal information we collect, to access or delete it, to correct it, and to opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of personal information or its use for targeted advertising. Because we keep very little personal information, a request will usually involve emails you’ve sent us. To opt out of targeted advertising, use the “Cookie settings” link in our footer, the Google Ads Settings link above, or a browser signal such as Global Privacy Control, which we treat as an opt-out request.

European Economic Area, United Kingdom and Switzerland. You have the right to access, correct, delete or restrict the use of your personal data, to object to processing, to data portability, and to withdraw consent at any time. Where we rely on consent (for analytics and advertising cookies), we ask for it through our cookie message. Where we rely on legitimate interests (for security), you can object. You also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.

How to make a request. Email contact@usernamesearcher.com with the subject “Privacy request”. We’ll respond within the time the law requires, and we won’t treat you differently for exercising your rights. We may need to ask for information to verify the request.

7. Usernames and Public Profiles

Our tools check whether a username exists on public platforms and link to public profile pages. We don’t access private accounts, private messages or anything that requires a login, and we don’t collect or store information from the profiles we link to.

If you’d like a username associated with you excluded from appearing in our results, contact us at contact@usernamesearcher.com and we’ll look into it.

8. Children’s Privacy

The Site is a general-audience website and is not directed to children under 13. We don’t knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact us and we’ll delete it. Some pages offer username ideas for games that younger players enjoy. If you’re under 13, please use the Site with a parent or guardian, and remember that no username tool ever needs your password.

9. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information, including encrypted HTTPS connections. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we can’t guarantee absolute security.

10. International Visitors

Our service providers may process information in other countries, including the United States. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for these transfers.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we’ll change the “Last updated” date at the top. Significant changes will be highlighted on the Site.
