These Terms of Service (“Terms”) apply to your use of usernamesearcher.com and its tools (the “Site”), operated by the Username Searcher team (“we”, “us”). By using the Site, you agree to these Terms. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the Site.

1. What the Site Does

Username Searcher provides free tools that check whether usernames are in use on public websites, check whether a username appears available to register, and suggest username ideas. The tools work from publicly available information, such as whether a public profile page exists at a given address.

2. No Affiliation With Other Platforms

Username Searcher is an independent website. We’re not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Instagram, TikTok, Snapchat, Discord, Roblox, X, Reddit, Twitch, YouTube, Kik, Pinterest or any other platform mentioned on the Site. All product names, logos and brands belong to their respective owners and are used only to describe what our tools check.

3. Results Are Not Guaranteed

We work hard to keep results accurate, but we can’t guarantee them.

  • An “Available” result means we didn’t find a public profile at that address when we checked. It doesn’t guarantee you can register the name. Platforms can hold usernames from deactivated, banned, deleted or reserved accounts without showing a public profile.
  • A “Found” or “Taken” result means a public profile appeared to exist when we checked. It doesn’t confirm who owns the account. Usernames can be reused, and impersonation accounts exist.
  • An “Unknown” result means we couldn’t get a reliable answer at that moment.
  • Platforms change their rules, pages and limits often, which can affect results.
  • Checking a username never reserves it for you.

Always confirm on the platform itself before relying on a result.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree to use the Site lawfully and respectfully. You must not:

  • use the Site to stalk, harass, threaten, dox or harm anyone, or to impersonate another person
  • use results to target, discriminate against or make decisions about a person (for example for employment, credit, housing or insurance)
  • use automated scripts, bots or scrapers to send large numbers of requests, get around rate limits or copy the Site’s content or data, without our written permission
  • attempt to break, overload, probe or bypass the Site’s security
  • use the Site to create or promote usernames that are unlawful, hateful, sexually explicit or that infringe someone else’s rights
  • use the Site in any way that breaks the terms of the platforms it checks

We may block access, limit requests or end your use of the Site if we believe you’ve broken these Terms.

5. Generated Usernames

Username ideas from our generators are suggestions, provided free and without any claim of ownership by us. You’re responsible for making sure a username you choose follows the rules of the platform you use it on and doesn’t infringe anyone’s trademark or other rights.

6. Our Content

The Site’s design, text, code and tools are owned by us or our licensors and are protected by copyright and other laws. You may use the Site for your own personal, non-commercial purposes. You may not copy, republish or resell the Site or its tools without our written permission.

The Site links to third-party websites, including public profile pages. We don’t control third-party sites and aren’t responsible for their content, products, services or privacy practices. Using them is at your own risk and under their terms.

8. Privacy

How we handle information is explained in our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these Terms.

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Site and its tools are provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including warranties of accuracy, availability, merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We don’t promise that the Site will always be available, error-free or secure.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we won’t be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits, accounts or usernames, arising from your use of the Site or reliance on its results. Because the Site is free, our total liability for any claim relating to the Site is limited to US $50. Some jurisdictions don’t allow certain limitations, so some of these may not apply to you.

11. Indemnity

You agree to defend and hold us harmless from claims, damages and costs (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your misuse of the Site or your breach of these Terms.

12. Changes to the Site and These Terms

We may change, pause or discontinue any part of the Site at any time. We may also update these Terms. When we do, we’ll change the “Last updated” date above. Continuing to use the Site after changes means you accept the updated Terms.
