TikTok Username Generator
Type your name, a nickname or what your videos are about, pick a style, and get a batch of TikTok username ideas in seconds. Every suggestion is checked against TikTok as it's generated, so you'll know which ones are free before you fall for one.
It's free and you don't need a TikTok login. Press Generate again for a new batch, as many times as you like.
How the TikTok Username Generator Works
Give it a word that means something to you. Your first name, a nickname, your niche or an inside joke all work far better than leaving the box empty, because the results will sound like you instead of like everyone else.
The generator builds on that word in the ways that work on TikTok: joining it to a second word, adding a period or underscore, putting a short tag in front or behind, or swapping in a related word. It only uses characters TikTok accepts, so you won't get a name that the app rejects for having a space or a hyphen.
Then it checks each name against TikTok's public profiles. Available means no account showed up at that address when it was checked. Taken names stay in the list, greyed out, so you can see what's gone. When you find one you like, claim it straight away, since a check doesn't hold the name for you. In the app, go to Profile, tap Edit profile, then Username, paste the name and tap Save. TikTok checks it on the spot, and your profile link changes to the new name. You can test a name you thought of yourself with the TikTok username checker.
TikTok Username Ideas by Style
Each style pushes the generator in a different direction. The examples below show the kind of patterns you'll get. They're there to give you a feel for each style, so don't expect these exact names to be free.
Cool.
Short, confident and a little mysterious. Cool TikTok usernames usually pair two strong words or add a sharp tag to a name: nightshift.kai, voltvibe, zerofilter.
Cute.
Soft sounds, food, animals and small words. mochimilo, bunnybites, honey.dew.days.
Funny.
Puns on your name or your niche. On TikTok a joke in the handle can help people remember you after one video. sir.scrollsalot, notapro.chef, dancelikeadad.
Aesthetic.
Lowercase, calm and pretty. slowmornings, lavender.static, softfocus.club. For more of this look, the aesthetic username generator has a much wider range.
Creator and brand.
Clear first, clever second, so new viewers can tell what you post from the handle alone. cookswithkira, techtalk.tom, fitbyjess.
Random.
Leave the box empty and pick Random to get a random TikTok username built from mixed word pairs. It's useful when you have no idea where to start, and you'll often spot a word you want to keep and build on.
TikTok Username Ideas by Niche
Your @handle sits on every video you post, so for many viewers it's one of the first things they see. That's why a niche word earns its place. Add your niche to the box together with your name:
- Dance and music: beatsbybri, moves.by.max
- Comedy: skitsbysam, mostlyjokes.jay
- Food: tinykitchen.tia, saucebosslee
- Gaming: clutch.koda, respawnriley
- Beauty and fashion: glowupgia, fitcheck.noor
- Fan edits: editor accounts usually pair the fandom or character with "edits" or "fx", like starlight.edits or velvetfx
Gamers and streamers usually want one name everywhere. If that's you, the Roblox username generator, Twitch username generator and Discord username generator work the same way, and our username search checks the name across 1,000+ sites at once. Streaming on Twitch or YouTube too? The Twitch and YouTube username search shows whether the name's already used there.
TikTok Username Rules
- 2 to 24 characters
- Letters, numbers, . _
- No leading or trailing period
- Change once every 30 days
A TikTok username can be 2 to 24 characters long. It can only use letters, numbers, periods and underscores, so spaces, hyphens, emoji and other symbols are out. It can't start or end with a period, and you can't use two periods in a row. Every name the generator suggests already follows these rules.
You can change your username once every 30 days, so it's worth picking one you can live with for a while. Your display name, the bigger name shown on your profile, is separate. It doesn't have to be unique and you can change it more often, once every 7 days.
If you never set a username, you're left with the TikTok default username: "user" followed by a long string of numbers. If that's what's on your profile now, this tool is the quickest way to replace it. A real handle makes your account easier to find, tag and remember than a row of digits.
Can You Have an Invisible TikTok Username?
No. People search for an invisible username TikTok generator after seeing profiles that seem to have no name, but the @username has to use letters, numbers, periods or underscores, so it can never be fully blank. The blank-looking names you've seen are usually the display name, which accepts special characters, including invisible ones. Some sites share tricks for a near-blank username using special characters, but they rely on characters TikTok's rules don't allow, so they're unreliable at best.
So if you want that look, keep a normal, readable username and experiment with the display name instead. Your username is how people search for you and tag you, and a handle nobody can type works against you. If you want fancy lettering or symbols, that's also a display-name job, and the username font generator can help.
What Makes a Good TikTok Username
Easy to say. TikTok creators get mentioned out loud in other people's videos. If you'd need to spell it, it's too complicated.
Short. You have up to 24 characters, but shorter handles fit better in comments and on screen. Under 15 is a good target.
Not too many numbers. One number can save a name that's taken. A long string of them makes a handle look like a default or a bot account.
Consistent. If you post on Instagram too, try to match. The Instagram username generator works the same way, so you can find a name that's free on both. Want a very short, rare handle? The short and OG username generator is built for that, though three- and four-letter TikTok names are hard to find now.
